DJ Campbell: 'Signing for Blackburn Rovers was easy decision'

DJ Campbell says that it was "easy" for him to opt for a loan move from Queens Park Rangers to Blackburn Rovers.

Queens Park Rangers striker DJ Campbell has insisted that it was an "easy choice" to sign for Blackburn Rovers on a loan deal.

The 31-year-old made the switch to the Championship side on a three-month agreement due to his failure to break into the QPR first team under manager Harry Redknapp.

"I'm delighted to be playing for Blackburn, it is a great club," Campbell told the club's official website. "I'm delighted it is finally over and sorted. I trained today for the first time, I can't wait. Speaking to the gaffer and seeing what his plans were, he really sold it for me, it was an easy choice."

Recent reports claimed that Campbell was poised to sign for Hull City following talks with boss Steve Bruce, but it is thought that the striker left for lunch and ended up having discussions at Ewood Park.

Despite holding talks with both clubs, Campbell was unable to move from Loftus Road in the January transfer window and instead had to wait for the emergency loan market to open.
