Andy Reid had a chance early on for the visitors but fired his shot over the bar when well placed.

Former Nottingham Forest captain Chris Cohen denied Blackburn when he cleared Alan Judge's free kick off the line after six minutes.

The away side were dominating possession and Jamie Paterson forced keeper Jake Kean into a save from his low shot.

At the end of the half Kelvin Wilson appeared to be pulled back in the area by Chris Taylor, but his penalty appeals were turned down.

Jordan Rhodes wasted a good opportunity for the home side but could only head Alan Judge's free kick wide from close range.

Blackburn had another great chance to score on the hour mark through Jason Lowe when he was well picked out inside the box, but could only place his shot over the bar.

With the game looking like ending as a draw, Darius Henderson fired home in the 90th minute after being set up by Jamie Mackie to give Forest victory.
