National Crime Agency names five bailed in spot-fixing probe

The National Crime Agency names five people bailed in relation to alleged English football spot-fixing.

The National Crime Agency has named the five people bailed in relation to alleged spot-fixing in English football.

A total of six people were arrested over the weekend following claims by The Sun that a match in the Championship had been fixed.

Blackburn Rovers striker DJ Campbell and Oldham Athletic winger Cristian Montano are among the five who have been bailed until April 14.

Meanwhile, brothers Sam Sodje, Akpo Sodje and Stephen Sodje have also been bailed by police.

Tranmere Rovers defender Ian Goodison remains in custody as the authorities continue their investigation.

Former Portsmouth defender Sam Sodje was caught on tape by the newspaper saying that he had arranged for a player to receive £30,000 in return for getting a yellow card during a fixture.

Sodje also admitted that he had been paid £70,000 to get a red card in a League One game against Oldham last season.
