Tottenham join race for Birmingham stopper Jack Butland.

Tottenham could move for Birmingham goalkeeper Jack Butland, according to The Mirror.

The England under-21 international has emerged as one of the brightest prospects in the country and Birmingham boss Chris Hughton is reportedly preparing for a series of bids.

Arsenal have also been credited with an interest in the stopper, but Tottenham could offer the player a quick route to first-team football with veteran goalkeeper Brad Friedel approaching the end of his career.

Butland, 18, has yet to make an appearance for the Birmingham first-team but has been earmarked by coaches as a future England star.
