Ryan Shotton has conceded that he would like to turn his loan stint with Birmingham City into a permanent move.
The Derby County defender arrived at St Andrew's in January on a deal until the end of the season.
However, despite having 12 months left to run on his Derby contract, Shotton has revealed that his sole focus is on catching the eye of Birmingham boss Gary Rowett.
"I have got to fight for anything that happens in the summer," the Birmingham Mail quotes the 27-year-old as saying.
"I have got one year left at Derby, I am not going to come out and say 'I want to stay at Derby and fight for my place and this and that'. I am here at Birmingham. I am trying to impress the manager and that's what it's about."
Shotton has made four appearances for the Blues, from which he has scored one goal.
