Sunday's Primeira Liga predictions including Moreirense vs. Benfica

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Primeira Liga fixtures, including Moreirense vs. Benfica.

Braga vs. Estoril (Sunday, 3.30pm)

Soon after an exhausting Champions League dogfight on Wednesday night, Braga return to Primeira Liga action as they welcome an in-form Estoril Praia side to Estadio Municipal de Braga on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts kept their continental dreams alive with a draw against Union Berlin in the week, while Estoril have been afforded a full week of training following success in the Taca de Portugal last Sunday.

We say: Braga 2-1 Estoril Praia

Braga put in a huge effort to earn a point off Union Berlin on Wednesday, but the hosts should be able to rotate their side to good effect on Sunday.

Estoril are enjoying a slight upturn in form but have been largely unconvincing on the road this term, and we expect that theme to continue in this one.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Moreirense vs. Benfica (Sunday, 6.00pm)

Primeira Liga leaders Benfica will face a challenging trip to a tough Moreirense side battling to breach the top four on Sunday.

Benfica bring a 14-game unbeaten domestic record into the game, but the hosts have been threatening to break into the European places with their performances this season.

We say: Moreirense 1-2 Benfica

Three of the last four meetings between the sides have seen Moreirense hold Benfica to 1-1 draws, as the visitors have only won four of the last nine head-to-heads, despite the gulf in stature between the sides.

Another close encounter is in the offing given Moreirense's ability at stifling the opposition, but Benfica should have just enough to claim three points and remain top of the pile.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Boavista vs. Arouca (Sunday, 8.30pm)

After facing off in the Taca de Portugal last weekend, Boavista and Arouca will face one another for the second time in a week when they face off in Sunday's Primeira Liga contest.

Arouca got the better of their opponents in the recent cup fixture, holding their nerve from the penalty spot to win a shootout and advance to the next round.

We say: Boavista 2-1 Arouca

Although Arouca enjoyed success in Sousa's first game in charge, last weekend's cup meeting did take place on home turf.

They will lose home advantage for Sunday's league meeting, and with Boavista looking to avenge their cup exit, we think the determined hosts will do enough to claim a narrow victory.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.
