Aaron Ramsey rescues draw for Wales against Belgium

Wales earn a 1-1 draw in Belgium thanks to Aaron Ramsey's late equaliser.

Aaron Ramsey scored a late goal to earn Wales a 1-1 draw against Belgium in their World Cup qualifier in Brussels.

Romelu Lukaku had the first clear chance for the visitors, but Wayne Hennessey was equal to his powerful low effort.

Wales created an opening of their own when Aaron Ramsey created a chance for Hal Robson-Kanu but his shot failed to threaten the keeper.

Toby Alderweireld had the best chance of the game for the hosts when his deflected effort came off the bar, and from the rebound Kevin Mirallas failed to scramble the ball into the net.

Kevin de Bruyne was next to test Hennessey and the keeper parried the ball into the path of Lukaku, but the striker couldn't find the target, before Robson-Kanu struck his effort straight at the keeper.

Eden Hazard wasted a chance to give Belgium the lead on the hour mark, but couldn't keep his effort on target from Lukaku's pass.

Minutes later the home side took the lead through De Bruyne, who latched on to Lukaku's pass and kept his composure to fire home past Hennessey.

Hazard had another chance for the home side but saw the visiting keeper save his powerful strike.

Belgium looked as though they were going to end the game with all three points, but two minutes from time Wales scored an unlikely leveller.

Ramsey latched on to the end of a fine pass from Craig Bellamy and slotted through the legs of Thibaut Courtois to earn his side a morale-boosting draw and end their World Cup qualifying campaign on a positive note.
