Bayern Munich have confirmed that Thiago Alcantara has signed a new deal with the club.
The 24-year-old midfielder's previous contract had been due to expire in the summer of 2017.
However, under the terms of his new agreement, the Spaniard has committed himself to the Allianz Arena for a further two years.
"We're delighted Thiago has decided to stay with FC Bayern for the long term. He's young and an important player for the future of our club," chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told the club's official website.
Thiago joined the Bavarians from Barcelona in 2013, but a knee injury has limited him to just 41 appearances since then.
