Mehdi Benatia has revealed his delight after seeing Bayern Munich drawn alongside Roma in the Champions League group stage on Thursday.
The Moroccan completed a move to Bayern from the Serie A side for a reported £24m this week, and admits that he is relishing the prospect of facing his former teammates twice in Group E.
"I am so happy with the draw," Benatia told reporters. "I wished for us to play Roma so badly so I could see my friends again. Those will be wonderful matches."
Bayern will also meet Manchester City and CSKA Moscow in the group, kicking off their campaign against the Premier League champions on September 17.
