Barnsley are reportedly interested in speaking to Wycombe Wanderers boss Gareth Ainsworth about their managerial vacancy.
The Tykes are in need of a new head coach following the dismissal of Jose Morais on the final day of the season after he failed to keep them in the Championship.
According to The Star, Barnsley have renewed their interest in Ainsworth, who was linked with the club when Paul Heckingbottom left to join Leeds United earlier this year.
Ainsworth is said to have impressed the Yorkshire outfit's hierarchy by guiding Wycombe to promotion from League Two on a limited budget.
The report suggests that Ainsworth is a strong candidate for the position, despite former Barnsley player Grant McCann having been installed as the bookmakers' favourite for the role.
