Accrington Stanley win League Two title as Wycombe Wanderers finish third

Accrington Stanley win the League Two title thanks to Saturday's 1-0 victory over Lincoln City, while Wycombe Wanderers beat Chesterfield 2-1 to seal third place.

Accrington Stanley have won the League Two title thanks to Saturday's 1-0 victory over Lincoln City.

In front of a record crowd at the Wham Stadium, Jordan Clark scrambled home the game's only goal in the 35th minute.

The result meant that Stanley maintained their six-point gap over second-placed Luton Town with one game remaining.

All three automatic promotion slots in the fourth tier have now been sealed, with Wycombe Wanderers taking third place after coming from behind for a 2-1 win at Chesterfield.

Michael Harriman scored an own goal on 39 minutes to give the relegated Spireites the lead but Nathan Tyson's equaliser and Dominic Gape's first goal of the season gave the Chairboys all three points.

Defeats for Notts County and Exeter City, to Grimsby Town and Stevenage respectively, ensured that Gareth Ainsworth's men would guarantee their spot in the third tier of English football for next season.
