Santos: 'Neymar will not join Barcelona next summer'

Santos insist on Neymar stay
Santos insist that forward Neymar will not leave them for Barcelona next summer and that he will remain with them until 2014.

Santos have denied that forward Neymar will join Barcelona at the end of the season.

The Brazilian club's announcement follows recent reports suggesting that the Spanish giants have paid an initial €10m (£8m) for the 20-year-old Brazil international.

"Santos reject any possibility of selling Neymar to Barcelona or any other team," reads a statement on the club's official website.

"There are no negotiations underway, and the club reiterate that the attacker has a contract until 2014, which he will see out until the end."

Neymar said earlier this month that he will decide his own future and that he wants to remain with Santos for now.
