Report: Barcelona drop John Stones pursuit

A report claims that European champions Barcelona will not pursue Everton centre-back John Stones at the end of the season.

Barcelona have reportedly dropped their interest in Everton centre-back John Stones.

Along with Chelsea, the Catalan outfit were expected to make a strong push for the England international at the end of the season.

According to The Mirror, however, Barcelona have been put off by Stones's temperament and are unsure whether the 21-year-old would be able to adapt to La Liga football.

Stones, who has also been linked with a move to Manchester United, is expected to fetch upwards of £40m if Everton decide to cash in on the former Barnsley defender at the end of the season.
