AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has rejected reports that they could make a move for Barcelona defender Carles Puyol.
The Spain international centre-back has recently been linked with the Italian club, although he himself has insisted that he is not seeking a departure from Camp Nou.
"There is nothing with regards to Puyol, I can assure you of that," Galliani told El Mundo Deportivo.
"Carles is a good friend of Milan, he likes our colours, but right now veteran players are not part of our plans. Although we recognise the great value of Puyol, we are thinking of youngsters. That is our philosophy for next season and our future in general.
"Anyway, as far as I know, Puyol has no intention of leaving Barcelona. The rest is just fantasy football."
Puyol has been at Barcelona his entire career.
