Barcelona have reportedly been handed a boost in their efforts to sign Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez.
The Catalan giants have identified the Argentine, who has a release clause in the region of £96m, as a long-term replacement for Luis Suarez.
Given the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic, that figure could prove to be a major stumbling block.
However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Barcelona are in a better position to offer a pay rise to the 22-year-old.
The report claims that Inter are unable to hand Martinez terms of €10m (£8.76m) per season.
Nevertheless, with the frontman still having three years left on his contract, Inter will not feel forced into cashing in on one of their most prized assets.
