Angel di Maria: 'Paris Saint-Germain could sign Lionel Messi'

Angel di Maria believes that Paris Saint-Germain "have the resources" to one day sign Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi.

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Angel di Maria has stated that his fellow Argentine Lionel Messi could one day join him in the French capital.

Messi has spent his entire professional career with Barcelona and with a contract that does not expire until 2018, it is not expected that he will leave the Camp Nou any time soon.

However, when asked about a potential link up with his compatriot, Di Maria refused to rule out the possibility due to the fact that his side "have the resources" to pull off such a coup.

"I hope that PSG can bring Messi to Paris one day. Everything is possible. It is all about money. It would take a lot of money to sign a player like him," he told RMC.

"It would be great for Ligue 1 and French football in general if Messi joined PSG. PSG have the resources to sign him. Messi could come to Paris."

Di Maria joined the Parisians in the summer from Manchester United for around £45m.
