Barcelona are reportedly preparing to make a move for Benfica forward Darwin Nunez.
The Catalan giants are still searching for a replacement for Luis Suarez, who left the club in acrimonious circumstances for Atletico Madrid over the summer.
Antoine Griezmann has since filled in as an out-and-out striker, but the Frenchman has not hit the ground running at Camp Nou and only just got off the mark for the season in La Blaugrana's 1-1 draw with Alaves on Halloween.
As a result, ESPN claims that Barcelona have reignited their interest in Benfica's Nunez, whom they attempted to strike a deal for in the summer but a move did not come to fruition.
Furthermore, the report claims that the resignation of former president Josep Maria Bartomeu and the board of directors will not affect proceedings, but the Blaugrana's new president must approve the deal before it can be sanctioned.
Nunez has enjoyed a prolific start to life with Benfica, bagging four goals and five assists in all competitions since arriving from Almeria earlier this year.
