Barcelona are offered the opportunity to re-sign Paris Saint-Germain attacker Neymar this summer, according to a report.

Barcelona have reportedly been offered the opportunity to re-sign Paris Saint-Germain attacker Neymar during this summer's transfer window.

The Brazil international represented the Catalan giants between 2013 and 2017, scoring 105 goals and registering 76 assists in 186 appearances, before completing a move to PSG.

Neymar has won four Ligue 1 titles during his time in the French capital, but the club have still not been able to win the Champions League despite their immense wealth.

During the 2021-22 campaign, the 30-year-old scored 13 goals and registered eight assists in 28 appearances, but he struggled with injury problems throughout the season.

A recent report claimed that PSG are willing to entertain offers for Neymar this summer, having been able to convince Kylian Mbappe to sign a new contract at the club.

According to El Chiringuito, Barcelona have been contacted over a possible return for Neymar, with a fee in the region of €50m (£43m) believed to be enough to sign him.

The report claims that the South American is open to a return to the club, although a deal would only be possible if the Catalan giants dropped their interest in Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski.

Newcastle United have also been credited with an interest in Neymar, with the Magpies becoming one of the richest clubs in world football due to their recent takeover.

The former Santos youngster has scored 100 goals and registered 60 assists in 144 appearances for PSG since his surprise arrival in the French capital.

Neymar won two La Liga titles, three Copa del Rey crowns and the Champions League during his time at Barcelona, who are planning a busy summer despite their financial problems.

PSG are believed to have become increasingly frustrated with Neymar's off-the-field conduct, while his relationship with Mbappe has allegedly 'cooled'.

The Brazilian was booed by a section of PSG fans in the latter stages of the campaign, but his substantial wage packet will make it difficult for clubs to sign him this summer.

Barcelona's leading attacking target this summer is Lewandowski, although Bayern continue to insist that the Poland international will not be leaving in the current market.

Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City have also previously been linked with Neymar, but there have been no indications that any of the three clubs would be interested in signing the forward ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.
