Daniel Alves wants Neymar to join Barcelona

Daniel Alves believes that his Brazilian compatriot Neymar should move to Barcelona to develop his career.

Brazilian defender Daniel Alves has reiterated his belief that his compatriot Neymar should join Barcelona in order to "further his career".

The Barca right-back claims that the 20-year-old Santos forward will improve his game if he moves to Europe.

"The difference between [Lionel] Messi and Neymar is that Messi plays in Europe, while Neymar is still in Brazil," Alves told Le Buteur.

"Even without tactical discipline, what is important for a team is having players with maturity and a sense of responsibility.

"To further his career, Neymar must come to Europe and preferably to Barcelona."

Neymar's contract with Santos runs until July 2014.
