Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has insisted that his side's remarkable victory over Paris Saint-Germain in midweek was not to blame for Sunday's slip-up at Deportivo La Coruna.
Speaking in the wake of the surprise 2-1 reverse, the Uruguayan rejected claims that Barca's midweek heroics has caused them to lose focus on the La Liga title race.
"Nothing happened [after the PSG game], we had plenty of rest days to recover," the striker told Marca. "We will not lose our focus on the fight for La Liga. [Deportivo] pressured us and marked tightly but there are things we must improve, just like the other day, sometimes you win, today we lost.
"I think we lost our focus for a few minutes in the first-half and football can be like that. When you give them a chance, they don't forgive you. They are fighting relegation and we knew it would be very difficult."
Barca remain top of the table following the defeat, but second-placed Real Madrid have the chance to overtake them when they take on Real Betis in the evening match.
