Luis Suarez: 'Sergio Ramos best defender I have faced'

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez picks out Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos as "the toughest defender" that he has come up against since making the move to La Liga.

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has claimed that Real Madrid centre-back Sergio Ramos "is the toughest defender" that the Uruguayan has faced since arriving in Spain's top flight.

Following a summer move from Liverpool in 2014, Suarez had to wait until last November to make his debut for the Catalan outfit due to a suspension for a biting incident at the 2014 World Cup.

The 28-year-old scored 25 times during his first season with the Spanish giants, helping Luis Enrique's side win La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League.

Reflecting on the 2014-15 campaign, Suarez has revealed that Ramos was the toughest centre-back that he faced last term, branding the Spaniard "very strong".

"Sergio Ramos is the toughest defender I've come up against. He's very strong, very experienced and he's very competitive. So I value a great deal the goal I scored against Madrid in the home game," Suarez told Mundo Deportivo.

Suarez has scored 10 times in 13 appearances for Barcelona this season.
