Barcelona boss Luis Enrique: 'Scoreline flattered us'

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique does not believe that his team deserved to put five unanswered goals past Sporting Gijon in Saturday's La Liga clash.

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has admitted that his team were fortunate to record a 5-0 win over Sporting Gijon in Saturday's La Liga clash.

Sporting impressed in the first period against the champions, but trailed 2-0 at the interval courtesy of quick-fire goals from Luis Suarez and Rafinha.

Barcelona eventually scored three more times to secure all the points in impressive fashion, but Neymar's brace and Arda Turan's effort all came in the final 10 minutes and Enrique has claimed that the scoreline was harsh on the hosts.

"The result is misleading. The 0-5 seemed to be an easy and simple result, but nothing could be further from the truth. The game wasn't a 0-5, much less. In fact, Sporting, at 0-2, made us suffer because conceding a goal would've complicated the game," Enrique told reporters.

"The red card completely upset the game's balance. Until that point, I saw the match on track in our favour, but not closed. There are areas for improvement there because then come the surprises. They put a goal past you, the fear sets in and then comes the next game."

Barcelona will attempt to move onto six points in their Champions League group when they visit Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach on Wednesday night.
