Arthur goes on strike from Barcelona?

Barcelona will take disciplinary action against Arthur after the midfielder flew back to Brazil without permission, according to a report.

Arthur has found himself in hot water with Barcelona after flying back to his native Brazil without permission from the Catalan giants, according to a report.

The midfielder has already agreed to join Serie A champions Juventus for the 2020-21 campaign in a deal which will see Miralem Pjanic head in the other direction.

However, Arthur did not feature in Barca's final six games of the La Liga campaign, and according to the Evening Standard, the 23-year-old is not intending to help La Blaugrana in their quest for Champions League glory.

The report claims that Arthur flew back to Brazil without permission and failed to turn up to Barcelona's training ground for coronavirus testing on Monday.

Quique Setien's side will reportedly take disciplinary action against the Brazil international, and it remains to be seen whether or not Arthur will play any part in Barca's Champions League last-16 second-leg tie with Napoli on August 8.

Arthur turned out 21 times for Barcelona during the 2019-20 La Liga campaign as La Blaugrana finished five points behind champions Real Madrid.
