Barcelona team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Alaves

Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their La Liga clash with Alaves.

Barcelona will be aiming to return to winning ways when they take on Alaves in La Liga on Sunday.

The Catalan giants missed the chance to qualify for the last-16 stage of the Champions League with two games to spare on Tuesday, as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk.

Xavi's side also lost El Clasico at the end of last month, but they beat Real Sociedad in La Liga last weekend, with a total of 27 points leaving them in third position in the table.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with Alaves, who are in 14th position in Spain's top flight.

Frenkie de Jong

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: November 12 (vs. Alaves)

De Jong was forced off against Celta Vigo towards the end of September due to an ankle injury and has not featured since. The midfielder is back in training, though, so there is a slight chance that he could be involved in this contest.

Sergi Roberto

Status: Out
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: Unknown

Roberto suffered a calf problem in training over the October international break, and the Spaniard will again be unavailable for selection here, but he could return before the end of the month.

BARCELONA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Gavi

Status: Out
Possible return date: November 25 (vs. Rayo Vallecano)

Gavi will be suspended for this weekend's contest due to the yellow card that he picked up against Real Sociedad, meaning that his next appearance is likely to come against Rayo Vallecano on November 25.
