Spain's team doctor Javier Minano has revealed that he is "optimistic" over David Villa's chances of being fit for Euro 2012.
The Barcelona striker has not featured in 2012 since breaking his leg last December.
However, Minano believes that the 30-year-old has every opportunity of making Vicente Del Bosque's squad.
"Villa will have to join the group for regular training action, and has to continue to improve," Minano told Efe. "We met with him a few days ago, and his recovery is on schedule. I am optimistic about his chances."
Villa has made 82 appearances for the Spanish national side.
