Brazilian forward Neymar has been ruled out of Barcelona's Copa del Rey last-16 tie against Getafe on Wednesday due to an illness.

The Spanish champions announced this morning that the attacker was suffering with gastroenteritis, with doctors instructing the former Santos forward to return home.

As a result, Xavi, who was left out of the original squad with a slight injury, has been called into the 18-man party for the first leg of the last-eight meeting at the Camp Nou.

It is not yet clear whether Neymar, who has scored nine times for the Catalan outfit this season, will return for the top-of-the-table La Liga clash against Atletico Madrid at the weekend.
