Barcelona team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Paris Saint-Germain

Sports Mole rounds up all of Barcelona's injury and suspension news ahead of Tuesday's Champions League last-16 showdown with Paris Saint-Germain.

Barcelona return to the European stage on Tuesday when they welcome Paris Saint-Germain to Camp Nou for the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

The two clubs have already locked horns off the pitch over a proposed move for Barca stalwart Lionel Messi, who stole the show against Alaves with a brace in a 5-1 win for Ronald Koeman's men on Saturday night.

The Argentine will be facing several PSG players who have voiced their desires to play alongside him in the French capital, but there will be no reunion with Neymar, who could miss both legs of the tie through an adductor injury.

With that in mind, Sports Mole rounds up all of Barcelona's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

Ronald Araujo

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Barcelona confirmed last week that Ronald Araujo had suffered a sprained ankle after lasting just 10 minutes of the win over Real Betis on February 7, and the defender is not expected to play again this month.

Sergi Roberto

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Muscular
Possible return date: February 16 (vs. PSG)

Sergi Roberto had only just returned from a lengthy layoff before he suffered a thigh injury in the Copa del Rey triumph over Granada on February 3. The versatile Spaniard was not involved against Alaves and is unlikely to recover in time to face PSG.

Martin Braithwaite

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: February 16 (vs. PSG)

Martin Braithwaite has missed Barcelona's last two matches with a hamstring problem, which prevented him from training on Friday after he looked good for a return against Alaves the day before. Braithwaite is not expected to play a part on Tuesday, but he would not have been likely to start anyway.

Philippe Coutinho

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Philippe Coutinho went under the knife for a knee injury back in January and will be out of action for another couple of months, but he should return to the field before the season concludes.

Ansu Fati

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Coutinho's fellow attacker Ansu Fati saw his bright start to the season cut short by a knee injury he sustained in November of last year. Reports of further surgery means that the 18-year-old might not take to the field again until the 2021-22 campaign.

Gerard Pique

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: February 16 (vs. PSG)

Experienced defender Gerard Pique has been nursing a knee injury since November, but he has made rapid progress in his recovery and has a chance of making his long-awaited return to action against PSG.

BARCELONA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Barcelona have no players suspended for the first leg.
