Report: Cristian Rodriguez to leave Atletico Madrid this summer

Uruguay international Cristian Rodriguez is expected to leave Atletico Madrid this summer.

Uruguay international Cristian Rodriguez will reportedly leave Atletico Madrid this summer.

The 28-year-old joined Atletico from Porto in 2012 and initially enjoyed a regular run in the Spanish side's first XI.

However, the attacking midfielder struggled for first-team football last season, with the majority of his appearances arriving late in matches.

His lack of football did not cost him a spot in the Uruguay squad for this summer's World Cup, but according to various reports in Spain, Rodriguez will leave this summer in search of regular football.

Rodriguez started his professional career with Penarol before joining Paris Saint-Germain in 2005.
