Report: Atletico Madrid want Carlos Vela to replace Arda Turan

A report claims that Atletico Madrid want Real Sociedad's Carlos Vela to replace Arda Turan, who is expected to leave the club this summer.

Atletico Madrid will reportedly move for Real Sociedad's Carlos Vela this summer, should Arda Turan seek pastures new.

Turan is widely expected to leave the former Spanish champions this month, with a move to the Premier League on the cards for the Turk.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Atletico want to use the money from Turan's sale to activate the release clause of Vela.

Vela only recently signed a new long-term deal with Sociedad, but should Atletico meet the Mexican's buy-out clause, which stands in the region of £21m, talks between the two parties could open.

Vela has scored 57 times in 157 games for Sociedad - including 10 in 32 last season during what was an injury-hit campaign.
