Claudio Ranieri confirms that AS Monaco are interested in Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao.

AS Monaco coach Claudio Ranieri has revealed that he is interested in signing Radamel Falcao from Atletico Madrid this summer.

However, the Italian says that he does not know if the club will be able to secure the Colombia international striker's services.

"I confirm Falcao, just as I confirmed David Beckham [in January]," he told reporters. "I don't know if he'll come. We're looking at a lot of players and I'm sure we'll have a good team.

"For you (journalists), it's important to know who's coming, to get scoops. For me, what's important is for us to relax, think about our upcoming games and enjoy it with my players."

Monaco gained promotion to Ligue 1 on Saturday.
