Diego Simeone has reportedly held talks with Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani over a move to Atletico Madrid.
The Uruguay international is believed to have grown disillusioned with life at the Parc des Princes following PSG's latest Champions League failure.
Defeat to Manchester United ended the Parisians' European campaign at the last-16 stage, though they can retain their Ligue 1 crown as early as next week and they are also into the final of the Coupe de France.
According to Don Balon, though, domestic silverware will not be enough for PSG to retain Cavani's services, and the former Napoli ace has already indicated to Atletico that he is keen on a move to Spain.
The report suggests that Simeone is after a new attacking player to revolutionise his side, which he hopes can turn Los Rojiblancos into more serious title challengers next year.
Cavani, who has another 17 goals in Ligue 1 this term, is said to be chasing one final big contract after recently turning 32.
