Diogo Jota quiet on Wolverhampton Wanderers future

Forward Diogo Jota remains quiet on his long-term future at Wolverhampton Wanderers after impressing during the early stages of his loan spell from Atletico Madrid.

Forward Diogo Jota has insisted that he is only focused on helping Wolverhampton Wanderers earn promotion to the Premier League.

Jota is currently on a season-long loan from Atletico Madrid and after seven goals and two assists from 15 appearances, Wolves are allegedly keen to tie up a permanent transfer.

However, the Portuguese youngster has revealed that he would prefer to focus on his football, rather than concern himself with where he will play after the end of this campaign.

The 20-year-old told Sky Sports News: "I'm on loan but I'm part of this team for at least one year so I'm focusing on doing my best to help the team reach their goals, and in the future will see what happens.

"I'm here at the moment but in the future [I don't know]. We cannot speak in football in the long-term because everything can happen and a lot of players have gotten in trouble because they speak too early and I don't want to make that mistake.

"But, in the present, I want to do my best for the club and that's all."

Wolves can move four points clear at the top of the Championship table with a win over Fulham on Friday night.
