Atletico Madrid defender Juanfran has claimed that his side are the most hard-working team in Spain.

Saturday's 1-0 win over Villarreal ensured that the capital outfit remained top of La Liga with just six games of the season remaining.

"We showed at the weekend that we are a great team. I don't know if we're the best team but we run the most and work the most," he told Mundo Deportivo.

"We need the support of our fans. They can see that we left everything on every ball and we have the same goal as they do - to achieve great things."

Atletico host Barcelona in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday.
