Atletico Madrid defender Juanfran has been forced to pull out of the Spain squad after picking up a thigh injury in his team's 1-0 win over Sporting Gijon at the weekend.
The experienced right-back was forced off at the interval of the La Liga clash, which Atletico won courtesy of a late effort from Antoine Griezmann.
Subsequent tests have revealed that the Spaniard suffered "a grade II injury in the medial side of his left thigh", which could keep him on the sidelines for the next three weeks.
As a result, the 30-year-old has pulled out of the La Roja squad for their upcoming friendly games against both England and Belgium.
Juanfran, who has 15 international caps to his name, is currently seen as Spain's first-choice right-back ahead of Real Madrid's Dani Carvajal, who is also currently injured.
