Half-Time Report: Atletico Madrid sneak in front just before interval against Valencia

Raul Garcia's 43rd-minute header gives La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid the half-time advantage in their match at Valencia.

Valencia striker Francisco Alcacer had the first meaningful effort of the game soon after kickoff, but he couldn't quite get his shot on target.

David Villa then floated an audacious effort just over the crossbar, before Koke squandered a clear opening for Atleti from Diego Costa's cross.

The visitors struck before half time, though, when Garcia looped a header from Gabi's cross into the net.

As things stand, Atletico are going six points clear at the top of the table.
