Ibai Gomez to sign new Athletic Bilbao deal?

A report claims that Athletic Bilbao will hand a new long-term contract to Ibai Gomez.

Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ibai Gomez is expected to sign a new long-term contract with the Basque outfit.

The 24-year-old's current deal is due to expire at the end of the season, with a number of clubs believed to be preparing an offer in the January transfer window.

However, according to Football Espana, Bilbao will hand the winger fresh terms over the next week, which will commit his future to the club until 2017.

Carlos Gurpegi and Andoni Iraola have both recently signed new deals with Bilbao.
