Aston Villa "following" Luis Cavanda

Aston Villa are interested in Lazio defender Luis Cavanda, according to the player's agent.

Ulisse Savini says that the Premier League club are among a number of sides monitoring the 21-year-old.

"I'll meet Lazio to talk about Cavanda next week," Sky Sports News quotes him as saying. "We want to plan his future.

"There are no official offers for him right now, but it is pleasing to know that he is liked.

"There are a lot of clubs who have put the spotlight on him. Aston Villa, for example, are following him with interest."

Cavanda's current contract with Lazio runs until June 2014.
