Aston Villa could be forced into selling their in-demand midfielder Fabian Delph for just £8m, according to reports.
The 25-year-old has been linked with a £10m move to Manchester City in the last few days, despite signing a new four-and-a-half year contract at Villa Park five months ago.
However, Delph's release cluase is actually just £8m, lower than the £10m fee initially reported, according to The Telegraph.
The England international joined Villa from Leeds United in 2009, and broke into the first team under former boss Paul Lambert after several injury-interrupted seasons.
Villa had faced the prospect of losing Delph on a free transfer this summer, until he signed his new deal in January.
