Tim Sherwood laments "individual errors"

Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood says that his team only have themselves to blame for throwing away a two-goal lead against Leicester City on Sunday.

Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood refused to hide his disappointment following his team's 3-2 defeat at Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.

Villa led 2-0 in the 63rd minute of the Premier League clash following goals from Jack Grealish and Carles Gil, but Leicester turned the match around with three goals in the final 20 minutes of action.

Sherwood has admitted that "individual errors" cost his team all three points and also explained his decision to substitute Gil just moments after his goal.

"The first goal gave them the momentum and unfortunately we could not wrestle it back off them. We just kept giving the ball away, it was not good enough," Sherwood told Sky Sports News.

"The game was gone with 30 minutes to go, but unfortunately we made unforced errors and it has cost us the game. We need to stop making individual errors.

"Gil was struggling with an injury, that is why he came off."

Villa have taken four points from their first five league matches this season.
