Former Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish is the favourite for the managerial post at Blackburn Rovers, according to reports.

Former Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish has reportedly emerged as the favourite for the vacant managerial post at Blackburn Rovers.

McLeish has been without a club since leaving Villa in the summer, while he has also managed Rangers, Birmingham City and Scotland during a successful career.

According to Sky Sports News, the Scot has been targeted by Rovers chiefs to replace Steve Kean, who departed the club at the end of September.

Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has also been mentioned.
