Report: Paul Lambert to hold crisis talks with Randy Lerner

Paul Lambert is to fly to America in order to hold crisis talks with Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner, a report suggests.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert will reportedly fly to America this week to hold crisis talks with Randy Lerner.

The 52-year-old owner, who assumed control of the Villans in 2006, announced on Monday that he intends to put the club up for sale.

Despite this, no takeover deal is said to be imminent, meaning that Lambert will seek clarification over his own position, according to The Guardian.

Lambert was appointed as manager of the Midlands outfit in 2012, in which time he has led the club to two 15th-place finishes in the Premier League.

The former Norwich City boss has one year remaining on his current deal at the club, and the same report suggests that he will move on should a takeover go through this summer.
