German club 1860 Munich have reportedly identified Roberto Di Matteo as a potential candidate for their vacant managerial position.
During the summer, Di Matteo was appointed as manager of Aston Villa but after just one victory in 12 matches, he was sacked by the Championship outfit.
However, according to Bild, the Italian could be offered a quick route back into the dugout with Munich, who play in Germany's second division.
Munich are currently 14th in the 18-team table after losing seven of 13 games this season, and that led to them sacking Kosta Runjaic.
It has been claimed that Di Matteo's rival for the position is Avram Grant who, like Di Matteo, has previously managed Chelsea and led them to the Champions League final.
Di Matteo has previously managed Bundesliga side Schalke 04, where he won 14 of 33 matches before leaving at the end of the 2015-16 season.
