Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen has rejected rumours that he is interested in buying Premier League club Aston Villa.
Current owner Randy Lerner put the club up for sale last summer, but the American businessman is yet to strike a deal with a suitor.
Recently, speculation surfaced claiming that Allen, who is the 55th richest man in the world, is keen to buy the Midlands outfit.
However, Allen has rubbished these rumours via a statement on his official website, which read: "Recent speculation linking me to Aston Villa FC are unfounded. I have not indicated interest nor had any discussions pertaining to the purchase of Aston Villa or any other club."
Allen, who owns a stake in MLS side Seattle Sounders, reportedly held takeover talks with Southampton back in 2007.
