Matt Lowton: 'We're all behind Paul Lambert'

Aston Villa full-back Matt Lowton is confident that Paul Lambert will push the club up the Premier League table this season.

Aston Villa full-back Matt Lowton believes that Paul Lambert has the qualities to instill a "winning mentality" within the Midlands squad this season.

The 42-year-old Scotsman moved to Villa Park from Norwich City last month following an impressive season in the Premier League with the Canaries.

"We need that winning mentality throughout the season, whether it's a friendly or a league game," Lowton told the Birmingham Mail.

"We need to make sure that we're disappointed when we lose and elated when we win. The manager has got a plan and we're buying into it, definitely."

Lowton moved to the Midlands club this summer from Sheffield United.
