Resuming their debut Champions League campaign, Aston Villa will tackle Serie A giants Juventus on Wednesday evening, when Unai Emery must make a couple of big selection calls.
As results have nosedived, Emery's squad has been struck by a series of injuries, and the absence of both Boubacar Kamara and Amadou Onana could mean that Ross Barkley - a goalscorer in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace - again partners Youri Tielemans in midfield.
Like Kamara, Jacob Ramsey has been sidelined by a hamstring problem, so Leon Bailey, Morgan Rogers and captain John McGinn should all feature in support of Villa's lone frontman.
Up front, top scorer Ollie Watkins will most likely keep his place, with Jhon Duran again consigned to a cameo role: the latter has found the net in both of his previous Champions League appearances at Villa Park, including a memorable winner against Bayern Munich.
With Ezri Konsa hampered by a hip injury that saw him drop out of England's final UEFA Nations League group game, fit-again Matty Cash may start - though Lamare Bogarde and Kosta Nedeljkovic are also options at right-back.
Meanwhile, on the left, France international Lucas Digne is expected to come back in, following a rare start for Ian Maatsen at the weekend.
If Konsa is ruled out again, Pau Torres and Diego Carlos would be paired at the heart of the hosts' defence, with Tyrone Mings set for a place on the bench.
Aston Villa possible starting lineup: Martinez; Cash, Carlos, Torres, Digne; Barkley, Tielemans; Bailey, Rogers, McGinn; Watkins
