Radamel Falcao stretchered off for Monaco

Radamel Falcao is stretchered off with a knee injury while playing for Monaco.

Radamel Falcao's hopes of going to the World Cup have been dealt a blow due to a knee injury suffered by the striker while playing for Monaco.

The Colombian international, 27, was stretchered off just before half time during his club's Coupe de France tie against Monts D'or Azergues on Wednesday.

Early reports have suggested that the forward may have sustained ligament damage.

Falcao has scored nine goals in 17 league games for Monaco so far this season.
