Goals from David Luiz and Edison Cavani helped Paris Saint-Germain see off Monaco 2-0 to reach the semi-final of the Coupe de France this evening.
PSG flew out of the blocks and Luiz grabbed the first goal just three minutes into the game, heading the ball home after Monaco failed to clear their lines from a corner.
Alain Traore then came close for the visitors a number of times, his closest after whipping in a free kick into the post, before Javier Pastore narrowly headed over.
Both teams then sat back and it became a midfield battle. Luiz and Adrien Rabiot received yellows for PSG, while Matheus Carvalho, Jeremy Toulalan, and Abdou Diallo were the offenders for Monaco.
Cavani then grabbed Paris's second after Marco Verratti split the defence with a pass and the Uruguayan slotted home with ease. He then hit the post after following up on Pastore's shot as Paris opened up and looked to grab a third.
Monaco were unable to penetrate the Parisian defence at all as the game became more confined within the middle of the park, and the match wore on to finish 2-0.
