Monaco thrashed by rampant Porto as Vincent Aboubakar bags brace

Monaco slip to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Porto in Tuesday night's Champions League encounter at the Stade Louis II.

Monaco have fallen to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Porto in Tuesday night's Champions League encounter at the Stade Louis II.

The hosts were first to threaten as Radamel Falcao pounced on a loose pass out from the back from Porto after just four minutes played, but the Colombian fired straight at Iker Casillas.

Although Leonardo Jardim's charges ramped up the pressure, the visitors went on to break the deadlock in the 31st minute when Vincent Aboubakar rattled home on the rebound following a series of saves from Diego Benaglio.

Porto could have scored a second just before the break but Yacine Brahimi was unable to keep his effort on target from Ricardo Pereira's low cross.

The visitors, however, succeeded in doubling their lead in the 69th minute as Moussa Marega got the better of his man and played the ball across goal for Aboubakar to sweep home and double Porto's lead.

The goal sparked the hosts into life and they came close to pulling a goal back shortly after, but Falcao's volley with the outside of his foot cannoned back off the crossbar.

Sergio Conceicao's side duly added a third a minute from time when Marega squared for substitute Miguel Layun to fire home amid a goalmouth scramble and truly put the game to bed.
