West Bromwich Albion join race for Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles?

West Bromwich Albion manager Sam Allardyce is reportedly interested in securing a loan deal for Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles has reportedly emerged as a loan target for West Bromwich Albion.

With the Baggies sitting seven points adrift of safety in the Premier League table, Sam Allardyce will make new additions before Monday's transfer deadline.

Galatasaray forward Mbaye Diagne is expected to be confirmed as a new arrival at The Hawthorns in the coming days.

However, The Athletic claims that Allardyce is also eager to bring in Maitland-Niles, who can play at full-back and in central midfield.

The 23-year-old has made 12 starts and eight substitute appearances for the Gunners in all competitions this season.

Despite interest from West Brom, the report suggests that Arsenal are against the England international joining a team which plays a different style of football.

A top-end Premier League club are also said to be monitoring the situation, while Wolverhampton Wanderers have been linked with the player in recent days.
