Arsene Wenger still open to January business

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says that beating Manchester City has not made him reassess his intentions to sign players in the mid-season window.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that he still plans to recruit players this month, despite watching his side beat Manchester City this evening.

The Gunners earned rave reviews for their performance in beating the Premier League champions 2-0 at the Etihad, with goals in either half from Santi Cazorla and Olivier Giroud doing the damage.

Wenger has previously stated his interest in adding reinforcements to his injury-hit squad before the January window closes, and the Frenchman says that beating City has not made him reluctant to do business.

"We are still looking, yes," he told the club's official website.

Asked if he had made progress in his transfer activity, Wenger added: "Unfortunately no, but if you have a good idea, you can text me somewhere to the club!"

Victory over the Sky Blues propelled Wenger's side back into fifth place in the Premier League table, one point adrift of Manchester United in fourth.
